Macarena Gomez- Barris gave a wonderful and eye opening talk
yesterday regarding the identity of the self, native wisdom and the condition of the indigenous people in Chile. She spoke
with contagious passion about the way the attitude of White America is and has
been negatively affecting indigenous peoples. Using examples in the past of Europeans
attempting to “civilize” natives and stripping them of their identity and many other points that really moved everyone listening. A lovely
Q&A session followed where everyone was very involved and ideas were being developed and passed between keen minds. Everyone then went on to enjoy dinner and further discuss the ideas presented.
